Rebecca Baker is a Zürich-bred, London-based actor, writer, and co-founder of Cut + Roll Films.

 

She is the creator  and lead of Drowning, a psychological sci fi short executive produced by Nicholas Pinnock and produced in partnership with PTSD UK, with full post-production sponsorship from Lipsync Post House. Alongside Rebecca, the film features Kola Bokinni (Ted Lasso), Amelia Bullmore (The Buccaneers), and Sophia Myles (Transformers: Age of Extinction), and is now in feature development. 

 

Her screen credits include Juice (BBC), Dear England (BBC), Flying (Blue Muse Productions), Moishe (Midnight Runners) and Hamdardi (Taba Productions), with the latter being long-listed for the 97th Academy Awards. Her stage work includes a nine-month lead in London’s West End production of The War of the Worlds (Layered Reality), The Network (National Theatre), Romeo + Juliet (Secret Cinema), and The Unreturn of Lydia Osborn (Summerhall, Edinburgh), which she co-wrote and associate produced.

 

Rebecca’s producing slate includes Scratching Post, written by BIFA-winner Abigail Hardingham and starring Calvin Demba (Supacell) and Bronagh Waugh (The Fall), alongside The Front Seat by Aella Jordan-Edge and body-horror Animal by Angelica Gayle as Executive Producer. Her most recent producing credits include the music video for Olly Murs and The Ordinary Boys’ Christmas release Christmas Starts Tonight and Ana Gallego's psychological horror Call, Don't Fall, starring Amelia Kenworthy (The Rings of Power) and Sam Gittins (Masters of the Air).

Rebecca has overseen work longlisted for the Academy Awards and has supported projects through to BFI screenings during the London Film Festival. She also serves as a jury member for BIFA-qualifying festival Exit 6 and The Look Aside Feature Development Fund, has completed the NFTS Production programme funded by the BFI, and is a council member of Kulty, the 4,000-strong international community supporting women, non-binary and queer filmmakers. 

 

Through Cut + Roll Films, she is building a female-led, impact-driven production company focused on developing bold, internationally positioned stories with emotional depth and cultural urgency.
